The CISRS Scaffold Awareness course is designed for non-scaffolders who work near, use, or manage scaffolding.
It is particularly suitable for those responsible for overseeing day-today construction activities and scaffold use, as well as those looking to strengthen their understanding of scaffold safety, planning works, or working in environments where scafffolding is regularly used.
These roles include:
- Site managers, supervisors, and site agents
- Health and safety managers and advisors
- Construction managers engineers and contract managers
- Trades working at height (e.g bricklayers, electricians, painters, roofers, maintenance operatives)
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a CISRS Scaffolding Awareness certificate. Industry best practice and many employers recommend refreshing training every 3 years to stay up to date with current regulations.

About the Course

An introductory course for non-scaffolders working in construction. It provides awareness of scaffolding safety, hazards, and good practice when working around scaffolds. If your role requires you to erect scaffolding or carry out inspections, you should complete the relevant training routes, including scaffolding operative training (for erection roles) or scaffold inspection training (Basic or Advanced level).

How the Training Works

Training is delivered in a classroom environment by experienced trainers using discussion and real-world site examples to support understanding.

Q12. What should I bring on the day?
Please being photo ID and your own lunch as this is not provided, however delegates can use on-site facilities where available including a kettle, fridge, and microwave. Trainers can also recommend local places to eat if needed. Where courses are delivered at live operational sites, PPE may be required for access. Once booking is confirmed, delegates are encouraged to confirm PPE requirements for their specific venue.
